In my previous article i wrote about the consequences of failing a drug test. In this article i would like to talk about the dangerous of drug. What can drug addiction cause in the family.

Drug Abuse is a habit that includes a lot of mental, social and vigorous effects on the consumer. On the other hand, it is true to state that the corresponding effects can also hit the family members of the addict at any time and cause them too much anguish. Effects of drug abuse on loved ones of the addict are numerous and overwhelming.

The same as it does on the addict, addiction drives the family members to suffer many effects, which includes stress of good reputation, monetary instability and interruption of their lifestyles that would have usually been typical, including at the place of work and college. It also puts them at risk of getting sick because of regular use of the drugs close to them by their family member who is an addict. Often they are also stressed out looking for methods to escape these effects or how to help the dependent person.

The effects of addiction in the loved ones to the remaining family members who do not make use of the drugs are many and diverse. These issues could differ from house to family, according to the type of addiction that is within, the duration of that addiction, its seriousness; the erraticism of the habit; plus if addiction recovery is involved. The consequences include things like:

A.)Emotional effect

As in most cases, houses in which drug addiction by the mothers or fathers is prevalent are likely to see more than one scenes of quarreling or even physical fighting. Because of this, the development of other family members who’re drug free, psychologically, which includes the kids and the other companion who is not a drug user could be derailed and compromised.

Drug addiction by a parent also makes them less efficient in their duty of parenthood and they therefore can’t be there for their kids when they are needed by them. The addicted mother or father will usually be very far away emotionally, or be suffering from countless diseases that are caused by the addiction.  This causes a wide range of emotional problems to the dear loved ones of the addict as they’ve to go through this daily in their lives.

Having said that, one of the biggest causes of psychological distress among family members is the fact that they are at times scared to confront their family members and determine them exactly how they feel about their drug abuse habit and why it need to stop with drug abuse treatment. This is because a lot of people feel that they will be intruding in that individual’s life if they did that, despite clearly noticing that their beloved is really having problems if they continued using the drugs that they’re abusing.

B.)     Biological Impact

It is very common for family members’ wellness to be affected as a result of being available to an individual who is abusing drugs over the years. Some of these diseases are brought on by reactions of anxiety and include asthma attack, severe headaches, gastrointestinal problems and migraines. The rest could be a result of negligence by the addicted parent, as with the case of kids or being harmed in a domestic assault episode. Smoking face-to-face with loved ones also puts them at risk of getting several illnesses like ear issues and assorted cancers.
